BPC-157 — UK Research Guide (2026)

BPC-157 is one of the most-requested research peptides in the UK. This guide covers the practical specifics — purity, reconstitution, storage and how UK-based suppliers like Professor Peptide handle batch testing.

What BPC-157 is used for in research

BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound 157) is a 15-amino-acid synthetic peptide derived from a sequence found in human gastric juice. In laboratory research it is used for in-vitro studies on fibroblast and tenocyte proliferation, angiogenesis (tube-formation assays), wound-closure scratch assays and cytoprotective pathway modelling.

It is supplied lyophilised, strictly for in-vitro laboratory use. It is not a licensed medicine in the UK and is not supplied for human consumption.

Purity, identity and CoA

Reputable UK suppliers ship BPC-157 at ≥98% HPLC purity, with identity confirmed by mass spectrometry. Every batch should come with a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) available on request — Professor Peptide provides this for every lot.

If a supplier cannot show a recent CoA for the batch you receive, walk away. Internal datasheets without third-party HPLC traces are not enough.

Storage and reconstitution

Store the unopened lyophilised vial at −20 °C protected from light. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water; once reconstituted, store at 2–8 °C and use within the stability window for the compound class.

Our reconstitution guide includes a dose calculator for common vial sizes (2 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg) and bac water volumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is BPC-157 legal in the UK?+

Yes. BPC-157 is not a controlled substance under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and is legal to buy in the UK for in-vitro laboratory research. It is not a licensed medicine and cannot be supplied for human use.

What purity should BPC-157 be supplied at?+

≥98% by HPLC, with identity confirmed by mass spectrometry, and a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis available on request.

How is BPC-157 shipped in the UK?+

Lyophilised, at ambient temperature, via UK tracked courier. UK domestic dispatch avoids customs holds. Free UK tracked shipping on orders over £200 at Professor Peptide.

How should BPC-157 be stored?+

Unopened vials at −20 °C protected from light. Reconstituted vials at 2–8 °C.
